Hello all! This is Lesley Snyder the owner of Rosehaven Yarn Shop for the past 6 years now.
Oh the fun we have had and the changes we have made and the events that we have taken part in over the years. It’s never been a dull moment and never without a lot of laughs!
Tim Snyder is my husband of 22 years and who has now fallen into the rabbit hole of knitting. He has started a Sunday afternoon Men’s Knitting Group at the shop and teaches the beginners. He has even designed a hat pattern or two that you can get on Ravelry for free! He is (annoyingly) a very beautiful knitter and this is his first sweater made by him.
He is also part of the team that now organizes our local Prince Edward County FibreFest. Rosehaven Yarn Shop is only a sponsor and a vendor now of the FibreFest and very glad that Tim and Erin take care of the it all.
We have 2 kids (well young adults now!) Leah is 22 and attending Fleming College in Peterborough and Quinn is 19 (Mom is not allowed to post photos of him…sigh) and attending Concordia University in Montreal. They are both enjoying being at school and Tim and I are getting used to be empty nesters. I didn’t like it at first but I’m in the groove now! It’s going to be chaos and mayhem when they come back for the summer break to work!
We have recently started Cabin Fever Kayak rentals at our home on the Black River. We now rent canoes and kayaks to people that want to paddle on the quiet river and enjoy all the birds and wildlife. Milo our dachshund loves to paddle with us as well. He even occasionally tries to take a ride with a customer!
I bought Rosehaven Yarn Shop in November 2013 and I have loved the people and the work so much! It really is my favourite place to be and to hang out and create in. The shop is right in the middle of Main Street, Picton which is in the heart of the beautiful Prince Edward County, Ontario. We do love this area! Lots of beaches, fantastic restaurants, loads of wineries and breweries and so many beautiful vistas to take in the natural beauty.
The shop is open pretty much 7 days a week for most of the year. The only time we are closed is usually Sundays in January & February, plus any crazy snow or ice days!
We all look forward to meeting you in the shop someday!
