Felted workshop with Chris Hall of CakeTin Hats.
In this workshop you will create a pattern (template) for your pouch, select your colours, design and then create your own felted masterpiece using beautiful merino wool and silk fibres. We will use a resist technique and seamless felting construction method. Felting is full of endless possibilities and what you create will only be limited by your imagination!
Skills required: Beginner class – no felting experience is necessary. Felting skills involve everything from delicate hand and finger dexterity to strong physical effort in the arm and shoulder area and requires some standing. Maximum 6 participants.
Materials included: merino wool, silk fibre, template material and the use of all necessary items including soap slurry, bubble wrap, pool noodle and felting tools.
Students are required to bring: an old bath towel, two old hand towels, a bucket, measuring tape (I will have a measuring tape available so don’t go and buy one specially!), sharp scissors, needle and thread (if possible but not mandatory), a few straight pins, an apron or change of top (not necessary but just in case you get wet) and your lunch (or there is a cafe located across the street).
Cost of full day workshop including materials is $120 (plus HST). Thank you for your payment which will hold your spot in the workshop.
Please call Rosehaven Yarn Shop at 613-476-9092 between 10 and 5 to pay for your workshop and hold your spot.
